On Monday, July 7 at 9:30pm, Sci-Tech will be hosting a free astronomy observing session with telescopes providing spectacular views of our Moon and other interesting celestial features. Sci-Tech staff will be on hand to guide viewers around the sky.
The observing night will be held at Thousand Island Park, on Wellesley Island. This event will be set up on the lawn near the gazebo, behind the Thousand Island Park Library. The library is located at 42743 St. Lawrence Avenue, Thousand Island Park, NY.
In the event of overcast skies, the astronomy night will be cancelled.
Directions are easy:
- Take Route 81 North, crossing the toll bridge to Wellesley Island, then get off at exit 51
- Turn right onto County Route 191
- In half a mile, turn right onto Route 100, Thousand Island Park Road (AKA: Westminster Park Road)
- Drive about 2.3 miles, then continue for another 0.4 miles as the road becomes Coast Ave, then Rainbow Ave
- The Library will be to your left, and we will be set up on the lawn behind the library near Union Ave
